Post 8: A subject I enjoyed studying

Imagen
Hello everyone, I hope you are all together and this is my last post and I will talk about a subject that has been like the one that interests me the most of what I have been studying. Well, this subject is "Introduction to Food Engineering" (both I and II), within my whole process of studying this career has been the least pressure I've had, besides the stress and everything else, we only had to do research reports, such as the costs of different products in different parts of Chile, or production of various foods, plus projects of this same nature. However, It has been the only subject that has approached my area of work because the other subjects don't tend to represent or teach what We are studying for this engineering or in the future, although we are few studying this in the faculty is literally like not being in the race as such due to the lack of explanation or approach to the area of food. Now continuing with this subject, I have learned various types of food

Post 7: A person that I "admire"

Personally, I don't admire anyone in this area of food engineering, I haven't found anyone who stands out to me because of their accomplishments or who they are. Despite this, I don't want to discredit people who have made great strides in the industry. On the other hand, outside of this area, I find great appreciation for the people who work day in and day out to build a better society in which we live either through talks, marches, etc. Where different points of view are shown that nowadays there is a non-existence of these facts because we live in the "it doesn't affect me" when we know that the person next to us is going through it. And it makes me a peculiar reflection of, how advanced is our society? because we praise ourselves that we have evolved but really we are still almost the same as the beginning. So all these people who can touch different topics without taboos or stereotypes and have a reflexive degree of self-criticism to improve our society a

Post 6: How can my mayor make the world a better place?

Hi everyone. I think this question is fundamental in the decision to study this career and I will tell you why. Nowadays we live in a speciesist world, where moral discrimination is made and a degree of superiority is created to certain species such as non-human animals, although we say that we love "our pets" (even the meaning of "pet" is speciesist). Because we live in a world with these characteristics and my change of considering what is and what is not food I have decided to opt for this career, to make a change in the food industry, mainly in the meat industry, to abolish the exploitation and death of non-human animals and so they have freedom and are not being exploited. Therefore, I reflect on why exploit and kill these animals? for gluttony? why yes? and even why use them for "fun"? Obviously, this would radically affect food in the world, but it would be a world where animals would be truly free. Within my profession with this objective, I see my

Post 5: A photo and its story

Hello everyone, today I'm going to tell you about this "rare" photo hahaha it's rare because I don't know what we were doing but I remember that day very well.  That was one of the last days where I could see my friends before the pandemic, we went to Constanza's house in the morning to take advantage of the days we were going to stay, and early on we had problems because as we were six we all arrived at different times, we had to buy the things we were going to eat, besides, that day the transport was very little, once everything bought and organized we went to my friend's house. When we arrived we got ready to eat so we could be at the pool, we were there all afternoon and it was getting dark when we forgot that we were going to sleep outside and we had to assemble the tents to sleep (we even took the picture lying on the mattress). At night we decided to have a few beers with everything else prepared and when it was one in the morning we decided to get

Post 4: A meal or food I really like

Imagen
Hello everyone again, today I'm going to talk about my favorite food (just thinking about it makes me get hungry hahaha).  My favorite food is the hummus, it is a paste similar to a pate, it can be made of any legume you choose (chickpeas, beans, lentils, etc). To make it you must use a cup of the legume of your choice, lemon juice, a clove of garlic, and oil of your choice (personally I like olive oil). You add all these ingredients in a bowl and grind them with a mini-blender and that's it, that's all. It is very easy to prepare! The truth is that I prefer to eat this with some delicious French fries, what a delicious meal! I really like hummus because it's easy to make, it's very healthy, and honestly it has saved me a lot when I have nothing to eat when my family eats meat :( (I remind you that I'm a vegetarian) And because its preparation is so easy after a day full of stress, it's very quick to make and in on time, you're ready to eat such a delici

Post 3: My Favorite Piece of Technology

Imagen
Hello everyone today, I will talk about my favorite piece of technology, which is my cell phone. Honestly, I don't like technology very much, but nowadays, this one has served me a lot for everything, to entertain myself, talk to my friends, family, and the whole process of pandemic lockdown. With my cell phone, I watch videos, talk to friends and family, it helps me in some way to study, it is very useful in almost everything, although after this pandemic I hope to stop using it. In my life it has kept me informed about everything that happens in the world, I have known the social networks where I can see "memes", TikTok, etc. On the other hand, why I recommend it if most people have one, the possibility that sometimes it becomes very addictive, disconnecting us in turn with everything around us. Thank you for reading to me again! I hope that you will be fine.

Post 2: Why did I choose my major?

Imagen
Hi again everybody, this is my second post and I am going to talk about why I chose my career! When I was a child I didn't know what happened in my head because I wanted to study law but now I know a little about this profession and career I think that it is very hard, and these students learn all this civil code and more, I believe that I watched a lot "Caso Cerrado" or "La Jueza" because I enjoyed drama cases. Among my possible careers, my first option was Chemical Engineering but thanks to the fact that I didn't reach the "PSU" score in different institutions, I didn't start this career but It's a good thing because now that I study Food Engineering I can achieve my goals, one of them is destroyed meat industries for animals no human and all their suffering and this is my motivation to decide to start this career.  In the future, I hope to work some years in different industries to know all food processes and then dedicate myself to the
